Inauguration of the Second Phase of AzarJam Chemical Plant
Opening of the Second Phase of the Glass-Lined Reactor Manufacturing Plant in Qom: A Major Step Toward Industrial Self-Reliance
AzarJam Chemical has officially inaugurated the second phase of its Glass-Lined Reactor manufacturing plant located in Shokouhieh Industrial Town, Qom Province. The project was inaugurated during the provincial visit of Dr. Mohammad Sadegh Khayyatian, President of the Innovation and Prosperity Fund, marking a significant milestone in strengthening Iran’s capabilities in the production of strategic industrial equipment.
Glass-lined reactors are among the most critical pieces of equipment used in the chemical, pharmaceutical, and petrochemical industries. Their highly resistant glass coating protects against acids, alkalis, and corrosive substances, making them essential for sensitive chemical processes and reactions.
According to the CEO of AzarJam Chemical, these reactors are widely used in the production of pharmaceutical raw materials, petrochemical products, detergents, and agricultural chemicals. He noted that while only ten countries currently manufacture glass-lined reactors, Iran has become the eleventh producer worldwide. Furthermore, Iran is now the fifth country possessing the technical know-how required for the design and production of this advanced technology.
Previously, glass-lined reactors were entirely imported and had remained on international sanctions lists for many years due to their strategic applications. Through domestic development and innovation, AzarJam Chemical has not only met the country’s demand but has also successfully exported its products to India, Russia, Turkey, and Turkmenistan.
The expansion project has significantly increased production capacity and created substantial employment opportunities. Currently, approximately 120 people are directly employed by the company, while an additional 250 indirect jobs have been generated through partner component manufacturers and suppliers.

The CEO emphasized that glass-lined reactors play a vital role in enabling the establishment of new pharmaceutical and petrochemical production lines, thereby contributing to sustainable industrial growth and job creation across the country.
He also acknowledged the support provided by the Innovation and Prosperity Fund, particularly through investment services and working capital facilities, which have enabled the company to expand its operations, improve product quality, increase production capacity, and strengthen export activities.
As part of its ongoing development strategy, AzarJam Chemical has recently expanded its product portfolio by introducing fluoropolymer-based products, further reinforcing its position as a leading knowledge-based manufacturer of advanced industrial equipment and materials in Iran.
